Women's Health Physiotherapy was founded from the clinical area of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is the care of women in relation to childbirth, prenatal and postpartum, including the teaching of prenatal classes, in the treatment of incontinence, and in the care of women undergoing gynaecological surgery. The scope of practice has now increased to include all health concerns of women: incontinence, pelvic/ vaginal pain, prenatal and postpartum musculoskeletal pain, rehabilitation gynaecological surgery, education prevention, wellness and exercise. I am a Registered Physiotherapist with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists, a long standing member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and member of the Women’s Health Division. I completed my Bachelor of Science Kinesiology in 2004 and Bachelor of Science Physiotherapy in 2007 at Dalhousie University. Since graduating I have worked in a variety of settings both in the public and private sector.

I have worked exclusively in Women’s Health Physiotherapy since 2017. My interest and passion for this area of practice came to light after my own struggles postpartum.

I have completed numerous post graduate courses and training in bladder incontinence, painful intercourse, bowel/rectal disorders, pregnancy & postpartum, c-section recovery, and pelvic organ prolapse. I am a certified Pre-Post Natal Fitness Specialist, and have training in both yoga and pilates.

I maintain a strong relationship with the community by providing educational talks on Women’s Health issues at a variety of public venues and events. I am a strong advocate for improved prenatal and postpartum care.
